ABC spring13U-14U team: high school prep program (Jan-May)

weekly workout schedule At A Glance

      (*all ABC team members are encouraged to sign up and participate in the full ABC January "spring-training" program)

          January

  • Saturday's - specialized skills clinics (on the ball field) divided up by position and comprehensive individual player evaluations and assessments designed to help players best prepare for the spring season. Thorough warm up, long-toss program, specialized skills training by position, tips, drills. max reps. *private lesson opportunities Mon-Thurs.

       February-May

  • Monday's - ABC staff available for one on one sessions, periodical optional clinics and workshops.

  • Tuesday's or Thursday's- carefully designed and planned indoor team practice *arrive 20-30 min early for extra-reps and early work. Indoor practice incorporates the following skills/drills workshops: active warm up, Swingtherapy (skills, drills, reps and live arm BP from coaches), Throwing Dynamics, Arm Care/Velocity training (for pitchers and position players), Pitcher's boot-camp (instruction, bull pens), Catcher's boot-camp, defensive drills, etc. Video montage of a typical week of ABC workouts.

  • Wednesday's - carefully designed team field practice hosted on the ball field (north at Balcones Youth Complex near Parmer/Mopac) and south at Preston Field near Zilker Park). Field practice curriculum includes includes the following components: active warm-up, 10 min throwing/long toss program, "daily-drills", In & Out, team fundamentals, max fungo reps, conditioning. Inclement weather issues posted @abcraininfo, move indoors.

  • Saturday-Sunday (potentially Friday evening) - Game Day. Local and central Texas tournaments

      *also, Saturday's (until the game schedule starts) - team field practice and field clinics.

ABC places a premium on Game Day activities. Schedules at each age group include tournaments, games against other premier select organizations, as well as ABC vs ABC instructional league games. In the event inclement weather is an issue, ABC will always have a Plan B/indoor workout and post info on the ABC inclement weather page -  @abcraininfo.

  • January - Saturday field clinics begin; option to join ABC "January spring-training" (weekly workouts; Sat clinics)

  • February - weekly team practices start (indoor and on the field); Saturday morning team practice on the field (weather permitting) when not scheduled to play; start scrimmaging mid Feb, look to play DH header toward end of month.

  • March - weekly team practices continue. Play in two tournaments and one Sat/Sun double header or one day tournament. Take weekend before spring break off; host practices for players in town over spring break.

  • April - weekly team practice continue. Play in two tournaments and one Sat/Sun double header or one day torunament. Take Easter weekend off; target a day to host our annual "ABC day-at-the-Disch".

  • May - weekly team practices continue through the end of May. Play in one tournament and schedule two double headers or one day tournaments.

  • next steps- 14U players have the option to transition into the ABC 15U summer program (June & July); 13U players have the option to transition in the "six weeks of summer" program (weekly training and "8 on 8" games).

Spring season participation fee(s)

  • 4-5 months (*Jan spring training optional; Feb-May) of professional instruction opportunities, player development and game day experience.

  • Request information regarding the spring program participation fee and payment options. ABC follows industry-standard pricing - however, we provide more value and programming than average; guaranteed. Families are welcome to pay in full upfront or pay with installments. (participation fee covers all team instruction, weekly instructional workshops, all game day events/tournaments, access to indoor academy, and ABC assessment, evaluation & consultation.

  • ABC spring uniform package is $100 payable when uniform is picked up (two ABC games hats, two ABC game jersey's, ABC practice jersey *extra ABC swag available for purchase

  • 14U add ABC 15U summer ball program or 13U add ABC "six weeks of summer" (June & July) for a nominal additional participation fee.
